Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Coordinator with hands-on experience in Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), water treatment plants, pumping stations and rural water supply projects. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating mechanical project activities from engineering and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
The candidate should have good knowledge of mechanical equipment used in WTPs, pumping stations and water supply schemes, along with strong coordination skills for managing contractors, vendors, consultants and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate day-to-day mechanical activities for JJM and water treatment plant projects.
Coordinate with Project Manager, Mechanical Engineers, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Procurement and QA/QC teams.
Review mechanical drawings, layouts, equipment specifications, BOQs and technical documents.
Coordinate procurement and delivery of mechanical equipment and materials as per project requirements.
Coordinate mechanical piping works, equipment erection and interconnection activities.
Monitor project progress and prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.
Maintain records of equipment installation, testing and commissioning.
Coordinate with client, consultants and government representatives during inspections and site reviews.
Travel to project sites across India as required.
JJM / Water Treatment Experience
The candidate should preferably have experience in Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) / rural drinking water supply projects, including one or more of the following:
Water Treatment Plants (WTP)
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and piping systems used in WTP projects.
Good understanding of pumps, valves, pipelines and mechanical erection.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical GA drawings, P&IDs, equipment drawings and layouts.
Knowledge of BOQ, quantity estimation and material reconciliation.
Good project coordination and site management skills.
Ability to coordinate with multiple departments, contractors and vendors.
Knowledge of testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
Good reporting and documentation skills.
Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and AutoCAD.
Ability to work at project sites and handle site-related challenges.
Preferred Experience
5–10 years of total experience in mechanical project execution.
Minimum 3 years of experience in water treatment / water supply projects preferred.
Educational Qualification
B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
