📌 Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled UI Automation Test Engineer with hands-on experience in embedded systems, HMI/touchscreen applications, and UI automation testing.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for graphical user interfaces running on embedded devices, including touchscreens, HMIs, and control panels.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Design and maintain automated UI test scripts/frameworks for embedded HMI applications.
🔹 Execute manual and automated tests on actual embedded hardware.
🔹 Validate UI navigation, touch/gesture input, rendering, screen transitions, and localization.
🔹 Integrate UI automation suites with CI/CD pipelines for regression testing.
🔹 Perform image-based/OCR testing using tools such as Squish, Eggplant, Sikuli, or similar tools.
🔹 Log, track, and troubleshoot defects using JIRA.
🔹 Perform compatibility testing across different hardware revisions, resolutions, and firmware versions.
🔹 Validate UI performance including response time, frame rate, CPU, and memory usage.
🔹 Support test-rig setup involving embedded hardware and debug interfaces such as JTAG/UART.
🔹 Collaborate with firmware, hardware, UX/UI, and software engineering teams.
🔹 Prepare test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, and test reports.
🔹 Support root-cause analysis of UI and embedded-system defects.
✅ Required Skills
✔ 3–5 years of experience in Software Test Automation
✔ 1–2+ years of experience in Embedded / HMI UI Testing
✔ Hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Squish, Eggplant, Sikuli, Ranorex, Appium, or similar
✔ Strong scripting/programming skills in Python, C/C++, or similar
✔ Experience with embedded GUI frameworks such as Qt/QML, Android, Embedded Linux, or proprietary HMI frameworks
✔ Knowledge of Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/GitLab CI
✔ Understanding of embedded hardware and resource constraints
✔ Experience with debugging using UART/serial consoles or similar tools
✔ Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills

➕ Embedded Linux / FreeRTOS / VxWorks
➕ Image Recognition / OCR-based automation
➕ Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing
➕ UART, SPI, I2C, CAN protocols
