PhD position in Power Electronics open at Tampere University!
We are looking for a motivated Doctoral Researcher to join our Power Electronic Systems group at Tampere University, in collaboration with GE Vernova.
The project focuses on the development of control methods for utility-scale power electronic converters operating as STATCOMs. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background or strong interest in:
⚡ Power electronics
🎛️ Control theory / optimal control
📐 Mathematical optimization
💻 Embedded programming and microprocessors
This is a 4-year full-time doctoral researcher position in Tampere, Finland, starting in October 2026 or as soon as possible after that.
